PAINTBALLTOGO TOURNAMENT
RULES, REGULATIONS, AND SCORING
For 2,3 and 5 man tourneys

1.0 EQUIPMENT
1.1
Markers
Each
player may carry into and use only one paint marker per game. Prior to each game
players are subject to equipment inspections by the PaintballToGo staff. To meet
PaintballToGo standards and be allowed to play, markers must meet these
specifications:
A:
Paint markers must have a barrel wrap.
B:
Velocity adjustments must require tools. All markers must also have locking
devices if they are adjustable without tools. These locking devices should only
adjustable with tools.
C:
No fully automatic paintball markers are allowed.
D:
Power sources can be CO2, HPA, or N2. Power sources must be
manufacturer made, homemade power sources will not be allowed. Power sources not
meeting industry safety standards are prohibited.
1.2
Barrel Bags
Industry
approved barrel condoms must be used at all times when outside the
field of play and may only be removed when the ultimate judge has allowed it.
Players not meeting safety standards will be removed from the event.
1.3
Goggles
It
is mandatory for every person who is on or directly exposed to any authorized
shooting area to wear industry approved goggles. All goggles are subject to
inspection.
At
a minimum goggles must cover a player’s eyes, mouth, and ears. The goggle
frame and face shield system must seal around the eyes to secure against a
direct impact from the paintball shell or fill during playing conditions. Full
face and ear protection is recommended.
1.4 Clothing
Players
are required to wear clothing in which the fabric will not cause paintballs to
bounce or deflect unbroken. Fresh paint marks on the clothing must be highly
visible. The clothing must become wet from such marks. It is recommended that
the entire body, including the arms and legs be fully covered during play.
Harnesses, vests, pouches and other load bearing gear must be worn on the
OUTSIDE of all clothing. Clothing must fit the player and not be extremely
oversized, bulging and/or draping. Knee pads may be worn under pants. We recommend
long sleeve shirts, but it is not required.
The
following clothing may
NOT be worn:
A: Clothing that resembles referee attire
B:
Any ghillie type covering attached to the body or equipment.
C:
Excessive layers of clothing, gear or other attire intended to prevent the
breakage of a paintball.
D:
Water repellent clothing. This includes any clothing that absorbs marks quickly
and makes detection difficult.
E:
Oversized or draping clothing that could hide or prevent the breakage of a
paintball.
1.5
Paintballs
It
is PROHIBITED for players to bring their own paintballs. Only
paint
purchased at the event may be used.
Paintballs
must remain in fresh, unaltered condition.
Paintballs
are water soluble, non-toxic, non-caustic, biodegradable and of commercial
manufacture.
1.6
ACCESSORIES
Players
must carry whatever personal items they wish to use on the field of play to the
staging area. The following items are not allowed onto the field of play.
A:
Artificial sounding devices. (Horns Whistles clickers)
B:
Artificial Light Sources
C:
Radios of similar communication, signaling or listening devices
D:
Any item that may be mistaken for the flag
All
power sources must meet accepted industry standards
Players
are not allowed to fill their own tanks at the event. CO2 and compressed air will be available.
Compressed air fills are included in the registration fees.
CO2 fills are charged on a per fill basis.
Each
player must make available themselves and their equipment to an inspection when
deemed necessary and appropriate by any member of the PaintballToGo staff.
Players
failing an inspection or refusing to allow an inspection will be deemed in
violation of the rules of play and will forfeit maximum points for the game.
All
rules set forth on equipment are subject to modification if it is deemed
necessary for safety precautions or to insure fair play.
Players
may drop equipment on the field during play. If any equipment (except pods) is
discarded or left behind, the equipment is still considered an active part of
the player and in the event that the equipment is hit with a paintball, the
player is eliminated.
Equipment
discarded by another player except pods or squeegees may not be used by another
player. Players may only possess one marker on the field of play. Eliminated
players cannot discard ANY equipment, including pods or squeegees.
2.0
Chronographing
All markers are subject to chronograph check at anytime by the PaintballToGo staff. During an event, all players must Chrono before every game. All players must fire 3 shots over the chronograph before each game. If any of the 3 shots are over 300 fps that marker will not be allowed on the field. The player will be given the chance to correct the problem if there is time before the game. If the problem is not corrected by the time the teams are called to take the field that player will either be counted as eliminated or the player may elect to enter the field without a marker. NO EXCEPTIONS.
2.1 Maximum Paintball velocity
A: One clearing shot is allowed
B: Each shot must be 300 or less
2.2
Velocity Infraction Penalties
A: PaintballToGo Staff will be performing spot chrono checks
B: All chronographed shots must be 300 or less

3.1 Most major infractions will incur a 1-for-1 penalty. The
type
of
penalties that a 1-for-1 will be used on are:
A: Playing on with an obvious hit
B: Arguing with a field referee
C: Unsportsmanlike conduct
D: Wiping
A: Obvious hit at the end of the game
(50 points)
(if
the obvious is game altering, the result will be max points for the opponent)
B:
Unobvious hits at the end of the game will incur a penalty of 25 points.
C:
Talking or signaling from the deadbox will incur a penalty of 50 pts.
D:
Overshooting = 15 points per break over 5
Max points of 75
Overshooting
is more than 5 breaks on a stationary player. A moving player may be shot more
but it is left at the Referee’s discretion whether or not an overshooting
penalty is required. For 5 man tourney the limit is raised to 7 if there
are multiple shooters.
E:
Once a player enters the goggles on area, goggles must be worn properly at all
times. Failure to do so will incur a 50 point penalty for players. This
penalty will be vigorously enforced.
F: Barrel bags must be in place unless the player is at the Chrono station or on the field of play. Anywhere else, barrel bags are required. Any players without a barrel bags outside the goggles on area will be assessed a 50 point penalty. THERE WILL BE NO WARNINGS.
A: Throwing any marker at anytime
B:
Physical contact that is not of an incidental nature.
C:
Major infractions of playing on or wiping can incur a 2 game suspension, this is at the
Head Referee's discretion.
4.0
Game Play
4.1 Format
A: 2 minute games for Top Gun
B: 3 minute games for 2 man teams
C: 4 minute games for 3 man teams
D: 6 Minute games for 5 man teams
E: Center Flag
4.2
Boundaries
Should
any part of a player or his/her equipment touch or cross over a boundary, said
player will be eliminated. This
includes the netting around the field, stay off the netting.
4.3
Eliminations
During
the course of a game, a player is responsible to check themselves or call paint
checks. Failure to do so can result in penalties and/or suspensions.
Players are eliminated when:
A:
Receiving a direct hit or multiple hits that leave a mark on any part of the player. Spray does not constitute a hit. If the
judge did not witness the spray and the mark is bigger than a dime, the
player will be eliminated.
B:
While in possession of the flag, the flag is shot
C:
If the player signals elimination by raising his/her arms above their head or
placing a hand on their head, or if play says I'm hit or out.
D: If the player violates a boundary
E: If a Referee calls the player out
F:
If the player is not within the starting zone at the start of the game.
G:
If the player removes his/her goggles during play
4.4
Paint Checks
Players will not be neutral during paint checks unless the referee deems it necessary. This means that you may continue to shoot (and be shot at) during paint checks until the referee calls you out. Please be courteous of the referees when they are doing paint checks on the player you are shooting at. The head referee can, at his discretion, halt play and resume play and/or reposition players if he deems it necessary.
Immediately
upon being marked or called out by a field judge, the player must yell “Hit”
or “Out” ONE TIME, place one hand on his/her head, and hold their marker in the
air. The player must then move
quickly to the deadbox and put a barrel blocking device in place on their gun.
Other than yelling HIT or OUT the one time the player must be quiet on the way
to the dead box.
Once
a player signals themselves as eliminated they are eliminated. Further play will
result in the assessment of penalties.
Eliminated
players may not shoot their guns or de-gas their gun. Doing so will result in
max Chronograph penalty points being incurred.
Eliminated
players may not pass supplies or equipment to live players.
After the game all live players must immediately report to the center of the field to be cleared by the head referee.
4.6 Flag
Pull
Whichever
team pulls the flag first will receive the points for the pull.
4.7 Elimination
while carrying the flag
If a player is eliminated while in possession of the flag, the player will drop the flag and move to the deadbox. The flag will be placed back in the center of the field by the head referee unless another player is making a move for it.

Good
on and off field attitude toward players, spectators and referees. Friendliness

8.0 Other points
You may fire clearing shots on the field before the game starts. You may only do this from your starting zone on the field. The shots must be directed towards the ground, not towards the bunkers or players. You cannot do it from anywhere else on the field.
In the event of forfeiture by a team the other team will receive the average of their other games as points for that game.
If the majority of the teams players do not finish all of the games in finals the team will not be eligible for prizes. We can not have teams making it to finals and then not playing all of their games
No Dead mans walk allowed.
Players cannot play on more than one team.
Cheating, including, but not limited to wiping, etc is not tolerated here. If your philosophy or playing style includes cheating you are at the wrong tournament. You will be rooted out and banned. We want to run a clean, fair tourney. Thank you for your cooperation.
